RRB Group D Recruitment 2025 is an excellent chance. With 32,438 vacancies announced across various posts in the Indian Railways under Level 1, it’s one of the biggest job drives this year.

Key Highlights of the Notification

  • Vacancies: 32,438 posts have been announced for Group D Level 1 roles. 

  • Application Start Date: Online registration began on 23 January 2025

  • Application End Date: Initially 22 Feb 2025, later extended in some zones to 1 March 2025 for online submission. 

  • Eligibility: Minimum educational qualification of Class 10 (Matriculation) or equivalent; National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or ITI may be relevant for certain posts.

Eligibility Criteria 

Educational Qualification:

  • Must have passed Class 10/Matriculation from a recognized board.

Age Limit:

  • The standard age range is 18 to 36 years (as on the prescribed cut-off date). 

  • Category-wise relaxations apply (SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen, etc.) as per RRB norms.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Stage 1: CBT (Computer-Based Test)

  • This is the first stage for screening. 

  • Typical sections and marks (indicative):

    • General Science: ~25 questions 

    • Mathematics: ~25 questions 

    • General Intelligence & Reasoning: (often around ~30 questions) 

    • General Awareness & Current Affairs: (around ~20 questions) 

  • Negative marking: Typically a 1/3rd mark deduction for each wrong answer. 

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency/Measurement Test (PET/PST)

  • Candidates who clear CBT become eligible for the physical test.

  • Activities may include running, lifting weights, long/short jumps, etc.—specific standards will be notified zone-wise.

Stage 3: Document Verification & Medical Examination

  • After the physical test, the verification of documents (educational qualification, age, category certificate, etc.) and medical fitness will be done.

  • The final merit list is based on the combined performance of CBT + PET + DV + Medical (as applicable).

  1. Visit the official website (e.g., rrbapply.gov.in or your regional RRB portal). 

  2. Read the detailed notification PDF thoroughly—especially eligibility, pay scale, and vacant post names.

  3. Register and fill the online form: personal details, academic qualifications, work experience (if any), category information, etc.

  4. Upload required documents: scanned photograph, signature, ID proof, educational certificates, and category certificate (if applicable).

  5. Pay the application fee (general / OBC / SC-ST, etc.). 

  6. After submission, take a printout of the application for your records.

  7. Keep checking your application status and download the admit card when available.
